January-February 2022 Update

The Skyfarer Team

The team is expanding - As our capability grows, naturally, so does our team! We are welcoming onboard new employees and graduate interns this month and are really looking forward to seeing their impacts on Skyfarer and our industry.

We are also looking forward to showcasing our capabilities with our partners this year.

Starlink

Instillation of STARLINK - To level up our communication & technology, we have installed our very own STARLINK dish, which will be utilised daily across all operations.

This dish is located at our Hub where we run our daily flight operations

Re-brand

Skyfarer is in the final stage of the rebranding process; we are currently developing our new and improved website, which will be live in March. Each partner's platform will be linked through this new website, and we would very much appreciate a backlink through your website also once ours is live.

A social media release will be announced shortly to uncover the rebrand to our wider audience.

Thank you to our talented creative team!

Future Flight

Skyfarer is pleased to announce that we have made it to Stage Two (Interview Process) for the Future Flight Challenge, where we have led an application to carry out our BAM (Big Ambitious Milestones) project. The interview for this stage happened on Wednesday 26th Jan. We look forward to announcing the outcome as soon as we are notified later this month.

Thank you to all those who attended meetings, provided feedback and generally supported us through this process. A big thanks to our fantastic consortium involved in advancements in the Future Flight Challenge Phase Three.

A lot of work goes into these applications - collaboration and motivation to a common goal of making aerial logistics possible shone through, and we are massively grateful!

Awards Events

Skyfarer has been made finalists for two awards this January!

  • Medilink Business Awards (Innovation Award)

  • Leicestershire Live Innovation Awards (Innovation in Technology Award)

Unfortunately, we didn't take the win, but we are so proud of our team to make it to the finals. Thank you to anyone who nominated us!

Workshops

Skyfarer hosted workshops recently with members of the Emergency Services industry to discuss how they can benefit from aerial logistics in their industries. We also hosted an additional workshop with the support of Connected Places Catapult (CPC) with last-mile delivery partners to discuss best practices and innovation in the last mile delivery process

These opportunities have been valuable to get us closer to the possibility and actuality of getting drone logistics to benefit these organisations. We are so grateful to our team, who made this possible!
